Before I start rambling about my first experience, lets introduce myself. I am a college student at Virginia Tech pursuing a BS in Computer Science. I'm involved in a lot of things here and there such as a dance crew called Bamboom, I am actively involved in Amnesty International at Virginia tech, member of the Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity (Pre-Law Frat), and since I'm asian I felt it was right for me to join an asian organization to keep in touch with my culture. I am currently 20 (turned 20 in Oct.31.2010).
So....
First of all, I started a website just for kicks. I basically wanted some cash for expenses at college like food and clothes, etc the small stuff. I'm still in the early stages and I don't really expect what to expect from this website but I'm sticking on to it since it is my first website ever...
I have had little experience with html, css and javascript so I decided to teach myself watching Youtube video's. This was actually a great idea. I didn't have to pay for anything and it was really easy to understand. After that 2 week period where I learned all the basics of those three languages I decided to go on to make a layout design for my website. Since I'm a computer science major and all, I decided to go from scratch. This was pretty smooth sailing and with the help of google I finished my layout within 2 weeks. looked okay, didn't really think it was the greatest thing ever but I decided it was good enough for a trial. Winter break came around and once I got up home we had to move, so I spent my first week packing and moving in to the new house. Now, the second weekish comes around and now that I have down time I was able to start working on the website again. At this point the design was set up and good to go so I decided to ask my mom to cash out a little bit of money to buy a membership to
Bluehost.com in order to host my website. I signed up without knowing scrap... this was a bad idea. I spent the first five days trying to figure out where the hell I was suppose to post my .html files into...
Dec23. I finally figure out what to do with my .html files and the website is up and running. Now, how stupid of me.. I forgot to mention the website name. My website's called www.OhMyDrama.net and its for viewing Korean drama, Korean movies, game shows, and movies from the states. Yes, I know some of you may think this is illegal but no I'm not hosting or uploading any of the media that is on my website I'm simply just linking the websites that have this content on to my website.
Dec.29th My website finally gets Google Adsense approved and I'm not able to make the cash I was hoping for. I post my website on to several Yahoo Answers and other Korean Portal sites. Since I'm home from break, all I did was find links to put on my website, THE WHOLE DAY ... pretty sad but yes my girlfriend was over and also didn't feel like going out to party or anything that day. I go out to eat and hang out with my girlfriend at night and come back around 2AM to check on the website. Since I put a hit counter on my website on the first page I figured "hmm let me see how many people I got today, if Any." I go to my website and Woah! I actually had a decent amount. Now I don't remember the exact count or the exact reaction I had but I remember I was pretty excited. I then got ready to go to sleep and remembered OH YEAH, Adsense. I took a look at my adsense account and this is where it gets, well.. Kinda exciting for me. I had $33.35 estimated earnings! I was skeptical and Googled all the possibilities of this being wrong and all I got was that it was pretty accurate. Well, I just earned $33.35 dollars that day and I have no idea how but it's been 5 days now and I have made a total $299.54.

I am just . . really amazed right now and yes, I've been posting on Yahoo Answers and the other Korean portal websites every chance I get since my first day.
I'm excited that my website is taking off and I will keep you guys posted on my experience of making my first website and also with Google Adsense. So far So good. :)
Here's my chart to prove my first five days.
